Regarding the music video for ‘Tempest,’ the band shared their insights, stating,

The video is mostly a visual representation of the song. The song is about losing yourself, losing who you are as a person because all your focus is on someone else, for whatever reason. You crawl into them. They become you. You wrap your whole life around them, give them all your energy, heal them, love them, then you wake up one day and realize you never reciprocated anything back from them. You gave everything of yourself, and nothing was given back or replenished in your soul. And then from everyday forward, you realize nothing changes, and you don’t know how to get yourself back despite all your efforts. The sun sets, and a new day comes, and nothing changes.

Following up on their sophomore LP, ‘Masquerade,’ in 2020, the Canadian outfit has been diligently honing their craft and refining their signature sound. ‘Tempest’ showcases the band’s evolution, incorporating their raw and driven aesthetic with immersive textures that create an impact like never before. The Broken Islands set out and pushed their creative boundaries, resulting in one of their most compelling efforts to date.
